さわって体験!本物のひみつ2024

Get in Touch with History 2024
Our Hands-on Gallery Exhibition

Have you ever looked at the cultural artifacts on display in glass cases and asked yourself, “How did they make that? How does it sound? How does it feel when I touch it?"

In our hands-on exhibition, we invite you to experience how ancient people felt and thought. By exploring the secrets of Japan’s cultural properties, you can find answers to all your questions about these mysterious treasures. When you look back at the real things in their cases, you may notice something new about our cultural assets.

This exhibition also features brightly lit rooms that can be enjoyed by visitors of all ages, regardless of ability. The works are arranged in such a way that children and wheelchair users can easily have a good time. In addition to multilingual descriptions of these objects, explanations are provided in audio, Braille, and Japanese sign-language video formats (offered by the museum's volunteers). We hope you have fun discovering the secrets of our artifacts by using all your senses and letting your imagination run free.
