Secrets of the Hands-on Experience
When looking at a work of art exhibited at a museum, have you ever stopped to think, “What’s it like inside? What sounds can it make?” The replicas and models displayed in this exhibition will reveal the secrets of works of art that are hidden when just looking at them. Shine a light on jadeite, touch a real mirror, transform into a tile, fit an eye inside a head, or ring a bell: one or more of these experiences will certainly resonate with you!
One of our aims here at Kyushu National Museum is to create a museum that everyone, from children to adults, regardless of (dis)ability, can enjoy. To that end, this exhibition features displays that can be easily viewed by those in wheelchairs, as well as explanations of the works in Braille and Japanese sign language videos (provided by our museum volunteers).
We hope that a variety of visitors will come and have fun at our interactive experience, Get in Touch with History.
