the collections of Matsura Seizan and Hiromu. What drove their passions for
collecting, researching, and passing on what they learned to future Matsura
generations...these are just some of the topics to be explored.

Relay Talks
With the tremendous backing of the Matsura Historical Museum in Hirado, Kyushu National Museum has completed a 4-year survey of the Matsura collection. The researchers involved in surveying the materials shown in the Special Exhibition will share the appeal of these artifacts.

In addition, 3 of our researchers specializing in history and archaeology will use historical materials to explore the appeal of the Matsura family and the background of their collection.

Three researchers who joined the survey will explain paintings and historical materials related to the Matsura family.

Three craft specialists from our museum will highlight the key points of interest through the arts and crafts handed down by the Matsura family.
