“The King is dead. Let’s bury him in the Jar-Coffin” workshop (Open to all)!
What is happening:
Kamekan are jar-coffins used about 2000 years ago in Northern Kyushu.
In this interactive workshop designed for foreign residents and visitors, we will be
re-enacting an ancient Yayoi period (5th century BCE – 3rd century CE) burial ritual for
a king.
Join us in this fun and interactive play held in simple Japanese, all without the worry
of having to memorize any lines!
After the workshop, you will be able to enter the kamekan coffin yourself.
For more on the workshop, please check out our blog entry (in Japanese).
