Pottery Workshop:
The Art of Line Engraving

Welcome to the 5th edition of our hands-on pottery workshop! If you take a stroll through our Cultural Exchange Exhibition Hall (4F), you will see many ceramics with different techniques on display.
During this workshop, you will get to try your hand at line engraving, and make your very own trinket dish. This engraving technique was used a long time ago by the Jōmon people in Japan, and in neighboring countries such as China and Korea.
Engraving lines may look simple, but it’s impossible to stop once you get into it!
